Project Highlight: Dunes Wastewater Treatment Expansion
Today’s Project Highlight as we continue to celebrate our industry with Construction Appreciation Week is Dunes Wastewater Treatment Expansion. Located in Palm Coast , Florida, this is an addition to an existing wastewater treatment plant we were selected to perform by our client, Dunes Community Development District. Project included construction of a new EQ basin, and additional SBR train and two new digesters with a polymer building. We provided a pad for holding two sludge drying boxes. In addition to new this construction, we demoed their existing digesters and drying beds. This work was performed to make room for a new storage building. After installing a new outdoor generator, we removed their existing generator, followed by a remodel of the space to provide two new restroom facilities. The goal of this project is to increase the capacity of the existing plant and allow them to balance their flow rates through the plant. We extend a gratitude of thanks and applaud everyone on the team who had a role in the success of this project: From PSC Project Manager, Paul Gilsdorf; Superintendent, Jeff Rocek; and Project Engineer, Aaron Gildea. From Dunes, CDD Greg Peugh; District Manager, Dave Ponitz , Utility Manager; Dave Boss, WWTP Chief Operator. Additional support staff includes Joshua Pickett, Engineering PM and Lucida XU, Design Engineer , both of CPH. And Steve Bailey, Electrical Engineer of Bailey Engineering.
